Message from the AAC

Jean SimardThe Aluminium Association of Canada (AAC) and its members, Alcoa, Aluminerie Alouette and Rio Tinto Alcan, will be the proud hosts of the first Canadian International Aluminium Conference (CIAC) from October 21 to 24, 2013, at the Palais des congrès de Montréal.

The Board of Directors of the Aluminium Association of Canada (AAC) created the CIAC as a biennial event to promote the aluminium industry and the markets for this versatile material in Quebec, Canada and throughout the world.

Steady increases in production capacity in the world’s emerging economies, the development of new markets to replace aging infrastructure and our contribution to challenging global environmental issues are key elements of the industry’s positioning for the future.

Working together, from our research centres, universities and world centres of excellence at major engineering firms, to our world-class equipment manufacturers and smaller processing companies, we must take up these new challenges and leverage these new opportunities.

The Canadian International Aluminium Conference (CIAC) will be a week long meeting place for major international events related to the aluminium industry. The CIAC represents a unique opportunity for representatives of the largest companies in the global aluminium industry to come together and discuss leading edge issues and challenges in the years ahead.

We look forward to working together for the advancement of our industry the world over.
