Alexandre de la Chevrotière, an engineer, is the President of MAADI Group Inc. After earning his degree in mechanical engineering, majoring in naval architecture, he began his career in the shipbuilding industry in 1991 modernizing NATO destroyers. In 2003, he founded MAADI Group, a Montreal engineering firm that specializes in the design, construction and installation of 100% aluminum pedestrian bridges and marine structures. The company’s customers in Canada, the U.S. and Asia, which are mainly in the marine industry and architectural area, benefit from his 17 years of experience in structural and marine engineering. His company, MAADI Group, has won many awards, including first prize (in the “structural engineering” category) at the ET Foundation Design Competition in 2008. Then, in 2009, his patented Make-A-Bridge® design, a seamless modular bridge system that his company presented at ET Foundation’s 2008 and 2012 exhibitions and received a Regional Award for New Technology from the National Research Council of Canada. More recently, the company received the “2013 Product Innovation Award” from Chicago Architectural Products. MAADI Group has obtained three patents for its Make-A-Bridge® assembly method. Alexandre de la Chevrotière will discuss the major role of INALCO 2013 in Montreal for the Quebec industry, bringing together — under the “Bringing innovative ideas to the world of tomorrow" theme — the researchers, technicians, designers and leaders shaping the future of the aluminum industry.
